Design and qualify new embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and project metrics.
Requirements
- C programming and related development tools and processes relating to microcontroller peripherals
- Analog/digital system tradeoffs and design relating to signal integrity, noise analysis, and margin considerations
- Lithium-Ion Battery Management strategies & circuits
- Power electronics circuit design and control
- Schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and industry best practices
- Digital circuits and interaction between firmware and electronics
Responsibilities
- Design and qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI.
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
- Execute a lead role for the design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects.
- Lead the development of test plans/procedures and test cases for new product embedded systems and subsystems development.
- Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the company process.
- Demonstrate company culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure for your work and driving to critical milestones.
Other
- Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.
- Drive urgency and accountability in project schedules to establish and achieve key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs.
- Serve as a role model of company's culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers. Grow the ability to lead and manage a small team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 5 years of progressively more responsible relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation; OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 2 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation.
