Design and qualify new embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and project metrics.

Requirements

  • C programming and related development tools and processes relating to microcontroller peripherals
  • Analog/digital system tradeoffs and design relating to signal integrity, noise analysis, and margin considerations
  • Lithium-Ion Battery Management strategies & circuits
  • Power electronics circuit design and control
  • Schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and industry best practices
  • Digital circuits and interaction between firmware and electronics

Responsibilities

  • Design and qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI.
  • Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems.
  • Execute a lead role for the design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects.
  • Lead the development of test plans/procedures and test cases for new product embedded systems and subsystems development.
  • Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the company process.
  • Demonstrate company culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure for your work and driving to critical milestones.

Other

  • Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities.
  • Drive urgency and accountability in project schedules to establish and achieve key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs.
  • Serve as a role model of company's culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers. Grow the ability to lead and manage a small team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 5 years of progressively more responsible relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation; OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 2 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Engineer, or alternate related acceptable occupation.
  • 10% of domestic and international travel required.
