Toyota's Automated & Electronics Evaluation (AEE2) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated ADAS Evaluation Engineer to define performance requirements and evaluate current and future Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to ensure Toyota’s automated systems meet customer expectations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with ADS/ADAS sensors and controls (e.g., camera, radar, sonar, lidar)
  • 5+ years of experience developing evaluation methods and KPIs
  • 4+ years of experience conducting public road and closed course evaluations
  • 1+ year of experience with simulated verification of vehicle control systems
  • 3+ years of experience leading evaluation, tuning, and benchmarking of automated features
  • 3+ years of experience with OBD and CAN tools, diagnostics, and sensor setup
  • At least 3 years of experience developing post-processing software for test data analysis

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate performance of ADS/ADAS systems in collaboration with internal stakeholders and Tier-1 suppliers
  • Conduct hands-on vehicle evaluations in closed-track, public-road, and simulated environments
  • Configure, modify, and troubleshoot test vehicles, sensors, and data acquisition systems
  • Develop and standardize evaluation processes, protocols, test cases, and check sheets
  • Champion customer needs using voice-of-customer data, driving environments, and competitor benchmarking
  • Lead function performance planning, execution, and KPI monitoring for decision-making
  • Present clear, data-driven reports using logical visual storytelling

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
  • Willingness to work overtime (~25% per week)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (~25%)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Master’s degree in a related technical field
