Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an engineer to shape and support their power electronics portfolio by driving yield and quality improvements, reducing costs, and qualifying materials and electronic packages.
Requirements
- Experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment in product engineering, metal or glass assembly processes.
- Experience with AC/DC electrical parameter testing for diodes, transistors and MOSFET, including hands-on test characterization and analysis.
- Experience with root-cause and failure analysis/troubleshooting (FMEA/DMEA).
- Experience with military specifications including MIL-PRF-19500, MIL-STD-750, and MIL-STD 883 and use of this knowledge in reviewing customer drawings.
- Six sigma.
- SPICE modeling.
- Software skills in LabVIEW, Silvaco, Minitab, TCAD.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the design, characterization and qualification for both new as well as qualified products.
- Contributing to cross functional product problem-solving initiatives, continuous improvement efforts and corrective actions.
- Creating and/or reviewing product documentation including assembly/post assembly travelers, screening travelers, and data sheets.
- Identifying new product BOMs (Bill of Materials) as they are developed or changes as they are implemented.
- Partnering with internal cross-functional teams as well as externally with customers and suppliers.
- Partnering with semiconductor foundry, test, and manufacturing engineers to drive yield and quality improvements, reduce costs, and collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to qualify materials and electronic packages.
Other
- BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or relevant engineering discipline, MS preferred.
- 7-9 years of experience (with BS degree); 5-6 years of experience (with MS degree).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams, customers and suppliers.
