Samsung's San Jose Location Group is seeking an experienced Navigation Software Engineer to develop industry-leading location technology IP for mobile and wearable applications, focusing on enhancing product performance KPIs and optimizing solutions for next-generation products.
Requirements
- Embedded software development in C/C++ and rapid prototyping in Python or MATLAB
- Hands-on experience in Motion Sensor software development, Kalman Filter, GNSS/MEMS integration and sensor fusion
- Experience with Jira, Gerrit, Git
- Analysis of complex software to determine anomalies and potential areas of improvement
- Strong debugging skills
- Understanding about VIO (Vision Inertial Odometer) is plus
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and optimize C/C++ code for the Motion Sensor and/or Positioning algorithms within our embedded software solution.
- Improve the software implementation for efficiency in code footprint, throughput and CPU/RAM usage
- Optimize parameters in the software solution to improve KPIs (Key Performance Indices) per the requirements from the customer and the target use cases of the solution
- Develop necessary software tools for the analysis
- Collaborate effectively with teams within and outside the organization for realizing the best product outcomes
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports on algorithms, software and test results
- Algorithm development may include areas such as pedestrian navigation, Dead Reckoning (DR), vehicular navigation, sports activity optimization using GNSS and various motion sensors under challenging environments and scenarios necessary to enhance product performance KPIs.
Other
- Master with 5+ years or PhD (preferred) with 3+ years related experience in Electrical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Applied physics, Aeronautical Engineering or related disciplines.
- Travel internationally and/or domestically to support product optimization for customers and to collaborate with team members in other geographies (up to 25%).
