ARINC Incorporated d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering to redefine the future of aerospace technology by designing, developing, and implementing advanced software solutions.
Requirements
- Must possess at least 3 years of experience with programming in Python in a professional software engineering environment.
- Must possess at least 3 years of experience working in a Linux development environment, including system-level debugging and scripting.
- Must possess at least 2 years of experience with real-time or streaming data systems, including integration with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar message brokers.
- Must possess at least 2 years of experience with AWS cloud services, including deployment, monitoring, or scaling of backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
- Design, develop, document, test and design control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determine end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
- Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
- Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
- Ensure novel ideas and implementation are captured and protected using applications IP processes and tools.
Other
- This is a hybrid position; must work in the Cedar Rapids, IA facility 4 days per week (Monday through Thursday) and may work remotely on Friday.
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and at least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
