Abbott Vascular is seeking a Senior Engineer Supplier Quality to drive improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers, providing technical support in supplier selection and developing acceptance criteria for materials.

- Strong understanding of business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships.

- Has a sound knowledge of various technical alternatives and their impact.
Responsibilities
- Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality and manufacturing capabilities.
- Provides technical support for the introduction of components from a new supplier.
- Generates and maintains incoming inspection procedures.
- Develops and/or sources inspection tools and equipment.
- Assists in generating component specifications.
- Generates test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports and approve components for use in products.
- Analyzes incoming material defects.
Other
- Bachelors Degree Related field OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Masters Degree Preferred
- Minimum 6 years
- Related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area.
- Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in non-compliance with governmental regulations.
