GEICO is seeking to build and scale the next generation of its underwriting platform and revamp existing tier-1 underwriting services to drive insurance business transformation by transitioning from a traditional IT model to a tech organization. This involves designing, developing, and deploying core consumer experiences that leverage AI, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and production-ready. The goal is to streamline underwriting processes, improve decision-making efficiency, and replace repetitive manual work with AI and automation.
Requirements
- Experience with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions for distributed systems
- Fluency and specialization with at least one modern language such as Java, Go, or C++
- Experience with services-oriented architecture with modern API protocols such asgRPC and REST
- Experience with event driven architecture with Kafka, container orchestration with Kubernetes or Docker.
- Experience with data storage
- Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
- Fluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure/AWS DevOps Operational Framework
Responsibilities
- Build up domain knowledge in one or more major areas in the team and provide technical and thought leadership to design, build, and productionize systems
- Design and develop highly available, scalable and secure software solutions to cater business needs with quality and expected timelines
- Own complete solution across its entire life cycle
- Accountable for the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions
- Collaborate with Product Manager and Operations team to align project goals and requirements.
- Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
- Experience building AI/ML products, conversational interfaces particularly with LLMs or similar AI models
