Uber Freight is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead their AI/ML engineering team to develop and deploy cutting-edge machine learning systems and AI-powered products for their logistics operations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 4 years in a leadership role and 4 years of hands-on experience in the AI/ML field.
- Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models at scale.
- Strong knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
- Solid understanding of data engineering, model lifecycle management, and MLOps.
- Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or reinforcement learning.
- Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or published research.
- Familiarity with data privacy, model fairness, and ethical AI practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of AI/ML Engineers.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for AI/ML initiatives in alignment with business goals.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and AI systems.
- Ensure engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into products and services.
- Drive innovation by staying current with the latest research and trends in AI/ML.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
