Develop and deploy cutting-edge machine learning systems and AI-powered products to power independent drivers, shippers, sales, and operations teams to transport freight across the world at Uber Freight
Requirements
- Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models at scale
- Strong knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
- Solid understanding of data engineering, model lifecycle management, and MLOps
- Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or reinforcement learning (preferred)
- Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or published research (preferred)
- Familiarity with data privacy, model fairness, and ethical AI practices (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for AI/ML initiatives in alignment with business goals
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and AI systems
- Ensure engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into products and services
- Drive innovation by staying current with the latest research and trends in AI/ML
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation
Other
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of AI/ML Engineers
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 4 years in a leadership role and 4 years of hands-on experience in the AI/ML field
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
