ServiceTitan is looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead and grow a team of talented software engineers focused on building and optimizing their core data platform. The goal is to shape the company's data strategy, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable data solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience with at least 4+ years experience managing multiple engineering teams working on large scale, complex, and highly available environments.
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong background in contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of complex data systems.
- Hands-on experience building and managing real-time and batch data pipelines.
- Experience with technologies like Snowflake, Athena,, Clickhouse, Flink, Kafka, and Airflow.
- Proficiency with big data technologies such as Spark, Python, DBT, and SQL, including leveraging Snowpark for advanced analytical workloads.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions), observability platforms (e.g., DataDog, MonteCarlo), and monitoring best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with product management, architects, and other engineering leaders to define the roadmap for the data platform.
- Contribute to the architectural vision and design of the data platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and security.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex data engineering challenges, including data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and analytics.
- Establish and enforce best practices for software development, data governance, and data quality, including the adoption and refinement of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Oversee the operational health of the data platform, including monitoring, alerting, on-call, and incident response.
- Define, track, and improve metrics for the team's operational health and data platform performance.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with a proven ability to drive cross-functional data platform initiatives.
- B.S., M.S., or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
- The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $202,000 USD - $270,200 USD.
