GE Vernova Hitachi (GEVH) is seeking to address climate change by designing technology for reliable, affordable, carbon-free energy, specifically focusing on advanced reactor technology, fuel, and services. The Senior Engineering Manager – Engineering Programs will lead the design and development of new plant reactor technologies globally, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution of new product developments and early works projects.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry.
  • Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change mgmt.).
  • EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant.
  • Understanding of nuclear industry and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Engineering Leader accountable for new plant proposal developments including partnering with the corresponding Sales/Commercial Leaders, Product Manager, internal Engineering teams and external Engineering teams to deliver on our customer commitments.
  • Accountable for early works execution by working with functional engineering leadership to drive an understanding of the departures from our standard designs and then build proposal estimates, schedules, risk registers to support business reviews and customer deliveries.
  • Ensure the development of the teams technical and leadership talent/depth.
  • Ensure the development of Engineering partners on GEVH technologies and processes.
  • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues for opportunity development.
  • Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions.

  • Relocation to Wilmington, NC is required.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
