Ripple is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow the Financial Crimes Engineering team, which is responsible for building systems that protect its products and customers against fraud, sanctions risk, and financial crime. This role is crucial for ensuring Ripple can scale safely, securely, and compliantly in a regulated industry.

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a Senior Engineering Manager (or equivalent) leading backend or platform teams delivering distributed systems at scale.
  • Experience integrating major third-party vendor platforms into mission-critical architectures.
  • Strength in building systems that meet regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements in fintech, regtech, or other complex domains.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS), and event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the team – Hire, develop, and coach a high-performing engineering team dedicated to financial crimes prevention systems, defining its culture and ways of working.
  • Deliver trusted integrations – Partner with Compliance, Product, and other engineering teams to identify leading vendor platforms for sanctions screening, fraud detection, and AML.
  • Engineer for scale – Own the orchestration and observability frameworks that make these vendor tools enterprise-ready at Ripple scale.
  • Drive technical strategy – Define and execute a roadmap balancing near-term delivery with long-term architectural durability.
  • Champion excellence – Set standards for security, reliability, and operational rigor across financial crimes engineering.

Other

  • Ability to align diverse stakeholders — across engineering, product, and compliance — into a coherent technical strategy.
  • Proven success building and growing high-performing teams.
  • In-office collaboration for moments that matter is important to our culture, and we give managers and teams the flexibility to decide which 10+ days a month they come in.
