Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Mission Engineering team within the Mission Systems Strategic Business Unit. This role involves developing and supporting the Mission Engineering capability, leading teams in advancing state-of-the-art technologies, and ensuring the successful integration of Mission Engineering/Operational Analysis output into product line strategies to meet business strategic initiatives and future customer needs.
Requirements
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- Experience in program execution, including bidding, project planning, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk and opportunity management.
- Experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration in a technical development environment.
- Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance, with current SCI or SCI eligibility
- Previous experience in a Research & Development environment
- Previous experience writing proposals for externally-funded research
Responsibilities
- Develop and work to support the Mission Engineering capability across Mission Systems
- Lead teams advancing state-of-the-art technologies to support the business key strategic initiatives
- Support integration of ME/OA output into product line strategies
- Ensure the development and management of technical risks; develop and execute mitigation plans
- Drive overall technical execution of projects in the portfolio under his/her leadership to ensure all program requirements and objectives are met on schedule and within the authorized budget
- Identify opportunities to advance the technology portfolio resulting in enhanced products to meet our customers future needs
- Ensure compliance with international trade policies and procedures

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- Must have the ability to function well, both alone and with others, and have strong interpersonal skills.
- This position may require occasional travel (up to 10%).
