Google is looking to solve the problem of building features and software experiences for greater security and privacy on Pixel devices, and drive security for their First Party (1P) consumer devices.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience with software development in C, C++ or Python.
- 5 years of experience in embedded security, SOC/silicon security or experience with security for consumer electronics.
- Experience with programming in one of the following: Java, C++, RUST or Python.
- 15 years of professional experience in engineering with a track record of technical innovation with large-scale user facing products.
- Experience leading large teams, while creating a shared sense of goals or purpose, and promoting engineering and product excellence.
- Ability to think in a manner to develop innovative product solutions.
- Experience with software development, technical leadership, and people management
Responsibilities
- Provide technical goals and strategy for Pixel Software Security. Design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap, balancing short and long-term technology investments.
- Drive and coordinate collaboration with teams within Platforms and Ecosystems and across Google.
- Drive our silicon and hardware strategy from an Android/Pixel software perspective.
- Review technical design from the team and guide technical discussions. Review experiments and guide project directions.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers over a global footprint. Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role, and meet regularly to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
- Develop and execute a roadmap to drive security for our First Party (1P) consumer devices.
- Bring industry foresight, collaborate and influence across teams, platforms and systems to deliver Software Security and Privacy for our custom hardware and silicon.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects.
- 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Ability to work with a global team and manage engineers across multiple teams and locations
