Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager (Sr. SEM) to lead engineering teams focused on delivering an exceptional Bet Experience for their customers, owning critical parts of their technology ecosystem and ensuring operational excellence, consistent delivery, and long-term strategic impact.
Requirements
- Experience previously leading teams or contributing in a Java, AWS ecosystem is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to own strategic direction while diving deep into tactical execution when necessary.
- Experience leading teams through highly complex, ambiguous, and cross-functional challenges.
- Commitment to operational excellence, with success in building high-performing, resilient engineering teams.
- Ability to mentor and grow engineers and future leaders, fostering a strong engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage engineering teams that own large, customer-facing systems within the Bet Experience space.
- Drive operational excellence by setting high standards for reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Establish mechanisms to ensure SLAs are met, incidents are well-managed, and systems continuously improve.
- Identify and proactively resolve risks before they impact delivery or operations.
- Define and execute the long-term roadmap, balancing tactical delivery with strategic investment.
- Enable teams to solve complex problems by creating structures for decision-making, risk mitigation, and accountability.
- Ensure delivery of software that is robust, maintainable, and aligned with customer and business goals.
