Abbott is looking to build a next-generation technology for their Lingo Division that enables individuals to make decisions about how to improve energy, lose weight or enhance athletic performance. This involves defining and driving the technical strategy for web commerce and health platform initiatives, owning and evolving core systems, and ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and performant to support rapid business growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role managing web engineering teams
- Proven track record in building and scaling eCommerce platforms, with hands-on experience in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business models
- Strong understanding of payment systems, including third-party integrations, fraud prevention, and compliance best practices
- Solid grasp of web architecture, performance optimization, and scalable infrastructure
- Experience leading high-performing teams in an on-site environment, ideally within the Bay Area
- Familiarity with modern web technologies such as React, Node.js, GraphQL, and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS
- Experience with tools such as Braze, Zendesk, Arvato, TrustArc, and Commercetools.

- Own and evolve core systems including our CMS, payment infrastructure, and other commerce-related tools
- Manage the full application lifecycle — from architecture and development to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and performant to support rapid business growth
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Business teams to deliver seamless, customer-centric experiences
- Champion engineering best practices and continuous improvement across the team
