Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is looking to improve its healthcare organization through better information management, aiming for clinical, operating, and financial improvements. The Senior Systems Analyst will play a key role in assessing and developing best practice models for clinical and bio-medical applications, supporting implementation and upgrades.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in applicable healthcare clinical operations, project management, or systems design, implementation, configuration or support
- Ambulatory EMR implementation and support experience
- Strong ability to define clinical and operating requirements, and translate requirements into clear, specific, actionable system configurations, and ability to implement those configurations.
- Ability to test and audit personally developed system configurations, in order to assure functional accuracy.
- Demonstrably strong conceptual, process and data analysis skills, and in depth understanding of medical practice informatics, clinical and operating data sets.
- Strong understanding of physician practice operations, and ways improved information management can lead to clinical, operating and financial improvement in a health care organization.
- Proficiency in use of desktop computer systems (Windows, Microsoft Office, email) and experience in use of clinical or practice management systems in medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of application systems analysis, workflow analysis, build, design, testing, interface knowledge and programming activities.
- Formulates/defines system scope and objectives.
- Support implementation and upgrades to clinical and bio-medical applications.
- Define clinical and operating requirements, and translate requirements into clear, specific, actionable system configurations, and ability to implement those configurations.
- Test and audit personally developed system configurations, in order to assure functional accuracy.
- Demonstrably strong conceptual, process and data analysis skills, and in depth understanding of medical practice informatics, clinical and operating data sets.
- Strong understanding of physician practice operations, and ways improved information management can lead to clinical, operating and financial improvement in a health care organization.

- Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts.
- Works with business owners, physicians, clinicians, stakeholders, and IT personnel to assess and develop best practice models.
- Provide weekly status updates on project(s) progress.
- Position will require travel to KSC clinic locations for implementation, training and support.

- Required: Bachelor's degree or at least 3 years of equivalent relevant work experience
- Preferred: Clinical, or Advanced Degree helpful
- Required: Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Excellent communication, relationship, teamwork and project management skills.
- Clear ability to articulate benefit realization personally achieved on previous projects.
- Preferred: Supervisory and performance management experience;
- Preferred: Complex project management experience with demonstrably successful outcome
- Proven communication, presentation, teamwork, project management, problem solving and technical skills are also required.
- Candidates must have a positive and “can do” attitude.
- Ability to learn quickly, and to obtain Epic System Certification level (as defined by Epic) and/or other clinical system certifications as required
- Preferred: Demonstrable knowledge of clinical data sets (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9, etc).
