Nelnet Bank is building products that make it easier for families to pay for education, plan their financial futures, and achieve long-term goals. As a young and growing bank, they need to develop innovative web, mobile, and API-driven banking products in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks—React and Next.js required.
- Strong expertise in front-end languages (HTML, CSS) and JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+).
- Experience architecting new systems in an API-driven, microservices environment.
- Familiarity with JavaScript tooling (NPM, Webpack, or similar bundlers).
- Proven ability to build responsive, cross-browser, and cross-device compatible interfaces.
- Hands-on experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Jest preferred).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins, or CircleCI).
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop reusable front-end systems powering complex web applications (React, Next.js).
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX and product teams to shape and deliver roadmap features.
- Integrate and coordinate with third-party services and platforms.
- Participate in planning, scoping, and road mapping sessions to define technical requirements.
- Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship, and advocate for best practices.
- Build, test, and deploy code using CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Contribute to Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and on-call rotations.
