DebtBook is looking for a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to join their team to revolutionize the way local governments, higher education, healthcare organizations and their finance teams work by managing debt, leases, and subscriptions, streamlining financial reporting, and sharing information.
Requirements
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and PostgreSQL or similar tools
- Experience writing tests
- Our application is a Majestic Monolith built with Ruby on Rails, React, and PostgreSQL.
- Our app is hosted in AWS, and we use GitLab for our CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
- We use feature flags to allow us to continually integrate our code.
- We expect teams to deploy their own code and monitor their own applications.
- Our technical assessment is a pair programming session designed to be very similar to our daily work. It is a collaborative session and it covers FE, BE, and SQL schema design.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all stages of the SDLC: solution shaping, system design, ticket writing/breakdown, write full-stack code, review code, perform deployments, participate in monitoring, and gather data for reporting.
- Own the quality of your work.
- Write tests and work with your team to ensure everything works before merging and releasing.
- Work cross-functionally on your team to ensure work is scoped to deliver quickly and deliver the right functionality.
- Work collaboratively with other cross functional product-focused teams.
- Engineers write automated tests, we maintain a fast CI/CD pipeline, and we release code daily.
- All of our engineers work on the Front End, Back End and Database.

- We don't have dedicated project managers or scrum masters. We expect everyone in engineering to project manage their own work.
