Kalepa is looking to solve the problem of commercial insurance being a trillion-dollar industry run out of Microsoft Outlook by empowering underwriters to make smarter, faster, and more accurate decisions with their state-of-the-art AI Copilot platform
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with a track record of improving and polishing functionalities to bring premium user experience
- Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving
- Experience in a modern FE framework, preferably React
- Knowledge of Javascript, Typescript, or Python, though we're open to strong candidates from other OO backgrounds
- Experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments
- Comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- Bonus: experience with LLMs/generative AI, distributed systems
Responsibilities
- Refining existing product functionality to deliver an exceptional user experience
- Ensuring consistency across the product, maintaining a cohesive look and feel, and implementing performance improvements that directly impact end users
- Paying close attention to the layout, interactions, responsiveness, and visual polish, that collectively give the product a premium, well-crafted feel
- Collaborating with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers to build scalable backend solutions
- Building scalable backend solutions as the company continues to grow
- Improving and polishing functionalities to bring premium user experience
- Driving projects to completion with minimal oversight
