PayPal's Honey Extension team is looking for a Staff engineer to build innovative features that save users money and time, improving the online shopping experience.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript/Node.js & familiarity with Golang or Python is helpful.
- Experience with React
- Experience with cloud computing systems (GCP, AWS, etc.)
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CircleCI, and Git.
- Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, and supporting network protocols
- Familiarity with SQL & NoSQL databases.
- Experience working on browser extension (Chrome, Safari, Mobile Safari etc) is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Architect and design solutions while leading module, application, or product development.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional engineering teams to align on solution design and implementation.
- Stay informed on industry trends and explore new technologies to drive innovation
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, uphold code quality, and perform code reviews.
- Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate with product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery.
- Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives sponsored by leadership.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving integration or technical issues.
Other
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years in software engineering with expertise in distributed systems & micro services architecture .
- Participate in operational excellence meetings and on-call rotations.
- Conduct knowledge sharing sessions with team.
- Collaboration with our Product team in an agile environment will be essential as you guide features from initial concept to final launch.
