PayPal's Honey Extension team is looking for a Staff Engineer to develop innovative features that save users money and time, improve existing functionalities, and resolve bugs in their browser extensions, micro-services, and batch jobs.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript/Node.js & familiarity with Golang or Python is helpful.
- Experience with React
- Experience with cloud computing systems (GCP, AWS, etc.)
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CircleCI, and Git.
- Experience with GraphQL, REST APIs, and supporting network protocols
- Familiarity with SQL & NoSQL databases.
- Experience working on browser extension (Chrome, Safari, Mobile Safari etc) is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Developing new features, improving existing ones, and resolving bugs in our Extension(s), micro-services, and batch jobs.
- Engage in operational excellence activities, including on-call support, performance monitoring, and documentation.
- Collaborate with our Product team in an agile environment will be essential as you guide features from initial concept to final launch.
- Engage in code reviews to uphold code quality and foster shared knowledge while working alongside other teams across PayPal Shopping and Rewards to ensure transparency and effective delivery.
- Designing and Architecting Solutions
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, uphold code quality, and perform code reviews.
- Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate with product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery.

- Collaborate with global cross-functional engineering teams to align on solution design and implementation.
- Stay informed on industry trends and explore new technologies to drive innovation
- Conduct knowledge sharing sessions with team.
- Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives sponsored by leadership.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving integration or technical issues.
