PayPal is looking for a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Quantum team, driving the development of an event-driven platform for automation and data analysis to solve business and technical problems.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience, with expertise in full-stack development.
- Frontend Expertise: Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (React preferred).
- Backend Skills: Proficiency in server-side development with Node.js and GraphQL.
- AWS Knowledge: Extensive experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda, and DocumentDB, and proficiency with AWS CDK or similar tools.
- Cloud-Native Design: Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and scalable cloud systems.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor engineers effectively.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Design and implement robust APIs and services with Node.js and GraphQL, integrating AWS tools (e.g., SQS, Lambda, DocumentDB).
- Frontend Engineering: Build intuitive and performant user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Chakra UI.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Architect and deploy scalable, event-driven systems leveraging AWS services and infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS CDK.
- Full Stack Leadership: Lead the technical design of features across the stack, ensuring best practices in architecture, code quality, and system reliability.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
- Automation and CI/CD: Maintain and enhance automation workflows to support efficient and reliable deployments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to align technical solutions with business goals.
