Reddit is looking to build and enhance its moderation products to enable moderators to create and grow meaningful communities, ensuring the platform remains scalable, reliable, and serves moderator needs. Additionally, Reddit is establishing a Compliance Engineering team to adapt platforms to evolving regulatory requirements and build foundational products for the company's future.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in a scalable computing environment.
- Experience working with various iOS libraries such as UIKit, Combine, Swift Concurrency, and Apollo GraphQL
- Experience working with API design and interfacing with backend services, as well as 3rd party services via SDK and webviews.
- Languages: Go, Python, TypeScript
- Frameworks: Lit, Node.js, Spark, Kafka, Airflow
- Datastores: BigQuery, Redis, Cassandra, PostgreSQL
- Tools: Kubernetes, Docker
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications and services while ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of our systems.
- Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Set and define standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and help coach and mentor engineers on the team to further their professional development.
- Adapt our platforms to the ever changing privacy, security and regulatory landscape
- Help build a new team within Reddit and drive its roadmap, processes and execution
- Coordinate high impact, highly cross functional business critical projects and features.
- Contribute to standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and help mentor junior engineers on the team to grow their technical expertise.

- A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or computer science-related field.
- Ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects, from initial design to deployment and maintenance.
