Southern California Edison (SCE) is looking for a Senior GIS Technical Specialist to perform a wide variety of GIS Services, create high-end analytical and map products, develop online mapping tools, and support critical business functions like incident management, capital projects, fire mitigation, and environmental analysis, all contributing to the company's mission of fueling innovation in the clean energy sector.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in GIS and analyzing mapping data.
- Experience with proficiency in the use of ESRI ArcGIS 10.0 or higher, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, FieldMaps, WebApp Builder, and Experience Builder.
- Ability to produce technical documentation and to communicate technical approaches clearly and concisely to non-technical audience.
Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth analyses, approves, develops recommendations, and creates scripts, tools or models where appropriate to enhance data flow and analysis
- Leads data remediation efforts including analysis, quality control, and performs or coordinates the asset updates to ensure data is accurate and aligns with actual field conditions
- Designs, develops and implements procedures to improve efficiency of operations and processes associated with mapping standards and GIS tools
- Utilizes geospatial software to process, analyze, and model geospatial data to improve processes and data quality
- Conducts land, regulatory, and related project searches, including identification of new data sources helping identify industry trends and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders
- Produces high-quality map products for presentations, meetings, public usage and departments; creating key business maps and producing ad-hoc or on-off maps
- Provide functional direction, guidance, and training to staff members to ensure conformance to departmental standards and procedures

- Collaborating with internal / external clients to assess project requirements
- Identifies industry trends and maintains relationships with relevant stakeholders and provides consultative services on an as-needed basis to address complex GIS problems/issues
- Collaborates with internal/external business partners to evaluate impacts on departmental activities that rely on GIS data or processes
- Project Management experience, including an ability to work with clients to assess project requirements and to plan, coordinate, track and meet scheduled project deadlines.
- This position’s work mode is hybrid.
- Position will require up to 10-15% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
