Rocket Lab is looking for a Senior Ground Software Test Engineer I to develop and support cutting-edge spacecraft ground software for their Space Systems missions, ensuring reliable operations and providing essential ground system development and support for internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Experience architecting web-based software applications
- Experience writing large scale end-to-end tests
- Full-stack software development experience, including: Backend – Python, Golang, and/or Rust
- Full-stack software development experience, including: Frontend – Typescript and Angular
- Full-stack software development experience, including: Database – InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, or equivalent
- Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks like Playwright
- Experience with Python web programming (FastAPI or equivalent)
Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve web-based software architecture for spacecraft operations
- Work closely with flight software developers, operations personnel, and systems engineers to understand requirements and functional needs
- Deploy, test, and configure the Rocket Lab Ground Data System
- Establish monitoring and alerting to detect system degradation and outages
- Identify ground systems issues and provide technical insight for resolution
Other
- U.S. citizenship is required, due to program requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline
- 5+ years of relevant work experience developing software professionally
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing
