Raytheon is seeking a Senior Image Scientist to work on state-of-the-art imaging systems with advanced capabilities available for time critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations.
Requirements
- Image science experience.
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) electro-optical (EO) sensors.
- Experience with a prototyping language (e.g., MATLAB, ENVI/IDL (Interactive Data Language), etc.).
- Experience with C++.
- Experience with image processing chains.
- Experience with geo-accuracy.
- Experience with Earth remote sensing from satellite or airborne platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain EO/IR (Electro-Optical/Infrared) remote sensing systems.
- Responsible for supporting the full product development lifecycle.
- Develop new functionality and optimize current imaging capabilities.
- Drive project direction and completion, within budget and on schedule.
- Develop algorithms in MATLAB or ENVI/IDL.
- Contribute to an agile team-oriented environment.
- Participate in proposals and interface with customers as a subject matter expert (SME).
Other
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior work experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of prior work experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- 100% on-site and based in Westford, MA.
