The world's leading AI medical information platform needs to build the highly reliable and secure backbone for its medical AI platform, handling sensitive medical data at scale.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer or Platform Backend Engineer at a growth-stage startup (Series D+) or large-scale tech company.
- Proven track record of building and scaling production systems and deep expertise in backend design and operation.
- Hands-on experience with IaC tooling (e.g., Terraform) and DevOps tools such as Docker and Python/JavaScript packaging.
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar major cloud providers.
- Proficient in backend languages like Python.
- Thinks deeply about system design, thrives in rapid iteration, and is energized by building highly innovative and extremely reliable healthcare infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate new backend services and APIs, taking full ownership of key backend production services.
- Develop and troubleshoot robust CI/CD pipelines and utilize IaC tooling (e.g., Terraform) to manage and scale infrastructure.
- Maintain and optimize key backend resources, including databases, caches, and load balancers, focusing on performance and site reliability.
- Contribute to the design of infrastructure and data pipelines that handle sensitive medical data at scale, ensuring compliance and reliability.
- Participate in on-call escalation (daylight hours only, about one week per month) and coordinate closely with ML engineers, product designers, and fellow software engineers to execute platform requirements.
