Life360 is looking to enhance its core mapping experience by building a new unified maps framework for its mobile applications. This role will own the entire mapping layer, define its future direction, and ensure scalability for hundreds of mobile engineers, ultimately improving customer delight and mobile engineering effectiveness.
Requirements
- 6+ years of development experience
- 2+ years of mobile map experience
- Deep understanding of the map ecosystem and data layers that interface with it
- Experience working at high-scale, B2C companies
- Help define and guide best practices within our mobile code bases and map components
- (Bonus) Experience with graphics programming or game development
Responsibilities
- Build and iterate on the new unified maps framework for our mobile applications
- Educate and drive adoption of the framework with internal teams
- Directly partner with product and design to create best-in-class mapping experiences
- Work with broader architecture groups to define the direction of technology and align future development with it
- Help improve the mobile engineering team's overall ability to work at high velocity
- Implementing our foundational mapping layers within the application
- Building an editor to enable real-time map iteration with the design team
