Raytheon's Battle Management Software Department is seeking software engineers to support the development, testing, and lifecycle management of aircraft embedded software applications, which interface with various avionics systems. This role aims to solve complex technical system and software integration problems for military and commercial programs.
Requirements
- Experience developing and testing software using C, C++, C, Java or closely related software languages.
- Experience developing software in a Windows environment.
- Experience with computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python.
- Experience with designing software systems, integration, and management.
- Embedded Software Architecture Experience on systems using a Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), e.g., Linux, Green Hills (GH) Integrity, VxWorks, or other.
- Ada software development experience.
- Experience in Unix/Linux computing environments.
Responsibilities
- Provides creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.
- Work closely with Systems Engineers to design ideal solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind.
- Support all aspects of a software development life cycle as members of a multi-disciplined team. This would include supporting new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements, to design, development, integration, test, and potentially subsequent maintenance tasking.
- Provide technical leadership through mentorship, providing technical assistance to others, participation in reviews, and participation in proposal, design, and process improvement.

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- DoD Clearance: Secret
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience.
- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.
