Serco supports the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) building and deploying high-fidelity submarine simulation, training and analysis products for the US Navy. We are looking for a Senior Linux Engineer to join our system integration team.
Requirements
- Experience with bash scripting.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Red Hat KVM (e.g., Red Hat KVM, VMware, libvirt/virsh)
- Networking knowledge (OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, DHCP)
- Active Security Clearance
- Current IAT Level I Certifications
- Network+
- Security+
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system services, application software and system management tools for Linux systems, both natively and within virtual machines
- Work with team to monitor and test applications, virtual machines, and containers to identify issues with installation and performance.
- Troubleshoot Information Technology (IT) Systems to diagnose and suggest/implement potential solutions.
- Support physical hardware installation of IT computing equipment and cabling at both local and remote sites.
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other related fields and 5 years experience, Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience or 9 years in lieu of degree
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to work on site at Middletown RI.
