Capital One's People Technology Innovation Lab is looking to hire a Manager to lead a team in developing groundbreaking solutions that will transform the employee experience by fostering a culture of creativity and using cutting-edge technology to solve real-world problems.
Requirements
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 9+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- 4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 5+ years experience with Distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL)
- 4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
- 4+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra)
- 4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of innovative use cases using technologies such as Generative AI, Knowledge Graphs, and machine learning.
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to ensure data is a core component of all innovation efforts, turning raw data into actionable insights and strategic products.
- Facilitate the end-to-end innovation process, from initial ideation and concept validation to prototyping and potential handoff for production.
- Manage a team of innovators, providing coaching, mentorship, and career development to help them reach their full potential.
- Plan and execute various ideation events like pitch competitions, hackathons, and innovation challenges to encourage new ideas and collaboration across the organization.
- Collaborate with leaders and teams across Capital One's People Tech organization to identify pain points and opportunities for innovation.
- Act as a thought leader, communicating the value and impact of the team's work to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
- At least 4 years of people management experience
- Master's Degree
