American Express is looking to solve the problem of accelerating digital transformation, enhancing customer experience, strengthening data strategy and practices, and driving growth by implementing effective data governance and management across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Data Management and Data Governance concepts (metadata, lineage, data quality, etc.) and related metrics to monitor compliance of Data Governance policy and standards.
  • Prior experience implementing Data Management / Data Governance programs, preferably at the Enterprise level.
  • Experience developing leadership dashboards with insights
  • Experience / knowledge of Data Governance / Data Management tools (e.g., Collibra)

Responsibilities

  • Execution of data activation activities and processes to bring data under governance (e.g., critical data element prioritization, data mapping, identifying data management roles, documenting data, and classifying systems)
  • Communicating data management program requirements to federated data management teams.
  • Initiating the training of federated data management teams on foundational processes and activities to bring data under governance.
  • Communicating requirements to teams who own data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, data quality platform, etc.)
  • Primary contact for the Business Units undergoing governance to act as an SME on all governance requirements.
  • Produce leadership reporting and analytics in relations to data under governance

  • Ability to collaborate, influence, and communicate across multiple stakeholders and levels of leadership, speaking at the appropriate level of detail to both business executives and technology teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and encourage partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, results and solution oriented, and personal accountability and resiliency
  • Proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment often with significant ambiguity and needing to make decisions with less than perfect information.
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
