American Express is looking to strengthen its enterprise data management capabilities through sustained, multi-year investment, and deliver data products that fuel business growth and unlock value.
Requirements
- Hands-on understanding of enterprise data management tools such as metadata management, lineage, MDM, data marketplaces, or data catalogs.
- Comfortable with technical concepts and able to assess product feasibility, architecture implications, and solution design options.
- Familiarity with Agile product development practices, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
- Proficient with SQL and tools like Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration platforms.
- Experience with product delivery in financial services, enterprise compliance tooling, or global data platforms.
- 6+ years of experience in analytics, and business intelligence, with a proven track record of leading data initiatives at an enterprise or line of business level.
- Proven experience in a technology- and data-intensive environment, preferably within a large financial, technology, or regulated enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog for EDM platforms, including but not limited to: Enterprise Data Catalog, Data Lineage. Data Products & Marketplace, Master and Reference Data Management (MDM), Metadata Management Solutions
- Lead the full product lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver on the product roadmap in partnership with Engineering, Architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality releases.
- Translate enterprise needs including regulatory, privacy, and risk compliance into actionable product features.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess technical feasibility, manage delivery tradeoffs, and maintain alignment across sprints.
- Support quality assurance by coordinating and participating in SIT, UAT, and PIV testing activities.
- Drive product adoption by preparing enablement materials, release notes, and training sessions for users and business partners.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong collaboration skills with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams including engineering, risk, privacy, and business leaders.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex data and technology concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
