7-Eleven Store Technology team is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of their cloud-powered retail platform, aiming to shape scalable cloud architectures for thousands of stores and millions of customers.
Requirements
- Advanced expertise in AWS cloud platform; hands-on experience with Azure and Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
- Proven track record designing and operating scalable systems that support large transaction volumes.
- Solid working knowledge of CI/CD processes, tool integration, and debugging/testing methodologies.
- Advanced skills in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong foundation in secure software development, application security, and a 'code first' mindset.
- Apply technical breadth across software engineering, system integration, cloud platform expertise, enterprise and event-driven architecture.
- Provide leadership in key development technologies, such as Java, NodeJS, React, MongoDB, NoSQL, REST APIs, Spring Framework, JSON, JUnit, AWS Cloud technology and modern CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team in designing, developing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of cloud development, DevOps, engineering, and support, driving architecture, implementation, documentation, and operational excellence.
- Establish and implement cloud architecture best practices to optimize performance, cost, and security - primarily in AWS, while enabling integrations with Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstrate deep expertise in AWS, including EC2, Fargate, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, Auto Scaling, and Kinesis.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to developers and cloud engineers, emphasizing secure networking and application/cloud security best practices.
- Foster an automation-first culture, leading initiatives to automate provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and monitoring.
- Ensure robust implementation, monitoring, and logging via tools such as New Relic, Logz, Loki, ELK stack, Prometheus, and Grafana etc.,
Other
- Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure design and management, ideally in high-volume environments.
- Exceptional self-drive, proactivity, and a results-oriented mindset with the ability to act decisively and deliver under pressure.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, thriving in fast-paced, team-based environments.
- Outstanding communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
