The team drives innovation in Machine Learning and Application Development to provide optimized first and middle mile delivery and drive business KPIs.
Requirements
- Strong ability to design, review, and optimize scalable, high-performance systems using cloud platforms, microservices, ML Platforms and modern software development and ML frameworks.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices to ensure timely, high-quality software releases in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proficiency in Kafka, No SQL databases.
- Subject matter expertise in the transportation domain.
- Exposure to ML Platform and ML Ops methodologies.
- Experience with designing and building transportation solutions that can support context-aware real-time ML inferencing.

- Facilitate coordination of multiple scrum teams to successfully deliver committed feature sets.
- Educate and advocate for engineering best practices within the backend services ecosystem.

- Proven experience in leading and mentoring software engineers while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams (Data Science, Product, Business, Quality Assurance and DevOps) and align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges, drive innovation, and leverage emerging technologies for competitive advantage.
- Focus on building solutions that enhance user experience, optimize performance, and drive measurable business impact in Walmart's retail and eCommerce ecosystem.
- Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting interests in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 15 years of experience in software engineering or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 15 years of experience in software engineering.
