EasyPost is looking to solve the problem of integrating technology-enabled operations of a modern business with the low-tech and complex shipping industry by developing and delivering high-scale, high-performing APIs critical to their core business.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years of hands-on development of complex systems.
  • 4+ years managing software engineering teams of at least five engineers.
  • Proven experience developing high-volume, high-performance APIs, ideally for a SaaS product.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and guide teams effectively.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering principles, development methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience working with large, external vendors.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of back-end engineers (Python, Go), fostering professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Enforce best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of scalable, high-quality software.
  • Partner with product management and engineering teams to align development efforts with business objectives, timelines, and requirements.
  • Prioritize and allocate engineering resources effectively, setting realistic milestones and monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Work closely with external vendors on complex API Integrations
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by staying informed on emerging technologies and integrating industry best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, expectation management, and regular feedback loops to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Prolonged stationary periods at a desk and working on a computer.
