Boeing is looking for a Senior Manager Vertical Lift Software Division Leader to provide leadership for software efforts within the Vertical Lift division, developing and testing next-generation software for vertical lift platforms.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with program execution
- 10+ years of experience with SDLC (Software/Systems Development Lifecycle)
- 5+ years of experience leading teams to execute to safety, quality, delivery & cost commitments/targets
- 5+ years of experience leading teams through process and change management
- Experience with systems or software engineering on Vertical Lift systems
Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize the progression of Vertical Lift software successfully from proposal through requirements definition, design, implementation, verification/validation, delivery, maintenance and support with consideration given to all relevant safety and quality aspects.
- Working with Vertical Lift engineering and program leaders, accomplish Vertical Lift program commitments including management of cost, technical and schedule elements leading to the timely delivery of high-quality software products.
- Disseminate and ensure the application of software best practices across the Vertical Lift portfolio, consistent use of tools and processes as well as process improvements including Enterprise Software Design Practices compliance.
- Facilitate software engineering enrollment of requisite software skills including architecture, development, integration, simulation, verification, test facilities administration and delivery as needed to support both programs within the division as well as in temporary support of software needs extended outside the division.
- Enable documentation and communication of relevant software status, risks, issues, recognition and other software related topics across Vertical Lift leadership and to higher-level engineering and business leaders as needed; exercise varied techniques for regular and consistent communication across the Vertical Lift Software organization.
- Become deeply involved in program technical issues involving software including but not limited to participation in non-advocate reviews and root cause correction action assessments ensuring such events are robust and comprehensive and that lessons learned are applied across the division and leveraged as broadly in the enterprise as appropriate.
- Ensure that software estimating best practices are utilized which include assessing proposals for accuracy and executability as well as proper identification and quantification of related risks.

- This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
- The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in either Mesa, AZ or Ridley Park, PA.
