Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division in Griffin, GA is looking to improve manufacturing process efficiency and quality for Engines, Gensets and Power Modules.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading or implementing manufacturing process changes that improve efficiency through the implementation of automation or other process improvements
- Extensive knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
- Extensive knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment, and site.
- Extensive knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service.
- Extensive knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Responsibilities
- Managing the planning, documentation, implementation, support and maintenance of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery and tooling to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness, quality and safety.
- Researching process performance data to identify and implement process changes that improve yield, runtime, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Managing the activities and resources for manufacturing engineers, process design and support personnel.
- Providing on-going support for manufacturing problems and deficiencies; troubleshoots technically challenging production problems.
Other
- Technical/Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.
- Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
- Knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand, adapt oneself to, respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization.
