Florida Power & Light Company is seeking to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and performance across its diverse generation portfolio by hiring a Senior Reliability Engineer.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, heat exchangers, and power plant systems
- Experience with condition monitoring technologies and failure analysis techniques
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Proficiency in reliability software tools (MAXIMO, PI System, vibration analysis software)
- Experience with renewable fuels or alternative energy systems
- Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certification
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (NERC, EPA, OSHA)
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive reliability programs for power generation equipment including turbines, generators, boilers, and auxiliary systems
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) studies to optimize maintenance strategies
- Lead equipment condition monitoring programs utilizing vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and other predictive technologies
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and recommend proactive interventions
- Support outage planning and execution with technical expertise and reliability assessments
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to reliability engineers and technicians
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- 5-8 years of experience in power generation reliability engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to relocate (if applicable)
