Lenovo's Solutions & Services Group (SSG) is looking to deliver end-to-end IT solutions and services by integrating various IT solutions and optimizing technology investments, and the Platform Operations Engineer role aims to support this by maintaining and optimizing Kubernetes clusters as part of the Platform as a Service offering.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Experience with deployment, management, maintenance, and tuning of Kubernetes clusters.
- 7+ years of Experience working with DevOps toolchains with Jira, Jenkins/Argo, Helm, Ansible.
- 7+ years of Experience working cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift).
- Hands-on Experience with K8s.
- Hands-on with Linux system management and network configuration.
- Familiar with cloud-native monitoring and logging tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
- Proficiency with Python, Go and Shell.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily operations, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of Kubernetes clusters, including cluster deployment, upgrades, scaling, monitoring alarms, and log management.
- Manage operation and maintenance of the DevOps toolchain, including CI/CD processes, code repositories, and build tools.
- Monitor platform performance, perform performance tuning, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Design and develop automated operations scripts, tools, and platforms to improve operational efficiency and automation levels.
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required.
- Solid cross-functional collaboration skills; able to align and communicate with business users and stakeholders across different levels.
- Cultural Competency working across Chinese, American, Desi, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact.
- Bilingual Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
- Hybrid schedule 3 days per week at our Morrisville location.
