Gentherm is looking for a Senior Pneumatics Product Engineer to support and execute the implementation of their seat comfort products for lumbar and massage into production, ensuring technical contributions and collaboration with automotive customers and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Experience with OEM or Tier 1 automotive part design, seating design, and development
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic engineering drawings, tooling prints, and product and test specifications
  • Experience in design, development, and manufacturing of automotive products, primarily related to pneumatic seat comfort
  • Strong familiarity of automotive product development and project monitoring tools, including DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP
  • Strong familiarity with plastics, injection molding capabilities, and assembly and test processes
  • Experience with Engineering problem solving techniques
  • Direct CAD experience and demonstrated CAD capabilities in NX and/or CATIA V5

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that product is designed within various industry quality standards according to applicable specification in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner while following the APQP process
  • Lead and drive Integrated Product Development Teams taking complete ownership of pneumatic product development
  • Act as a technical liaison between customer and project management
  • Initiate, review, and release design FMEA’s, DVP&R, BOM, and drawings
  • Assist in the establishment of system requirements and specifications using engineering and technical disciplines
  • Assure product testing is completed, analyzed, and that results are documented, meet design specifications and communicated
  • Support production and quality departments with design related issues through product validation

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry dealing with pneumatic comfort components
  • Building relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to utilize engineering techniques to solve complex problems
  • Ability to successfully interface with customers, associates, and the community
