Requirements
- Experience with Python development (numpy, scipy, scikit-image, and scikit-learn) for integration into statistical and/or machine learning applications
- Experience with relational databases management and SQL development
- Experience applying quantitative techniques (normalization, standardization, applied statistics) to cleanse and explore large, complex data sets
- Experience with design, train, fine tune, deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) (e.g. GPT-based, Mistral, custom transformer architectures)
- Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Experience building data visualizations with applications such as Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, etc.
- Experience with commercial software development processes: good software hygiene regarding code documentation, unit testing, bug tracking, version control, MLOps concepts, processes, and technologies
Responsibilities
- work across functional areas to support the application of data science and software engineering methods and techniques for production-scale internal use and external research
- collaborate with stakeholders across Raytheon, RTX, and the Applied Artificial Intelligence team to develop analytic products for agile delivery, spanning manufacturing, engineering, business development, and supply chain functions
- research and deploy technical solutions for customers as part of a broader ecosystem of machine learning and advanced analytics professionals
- influence organizational standards by developing and deploying technical solutions

- support the application of data science and software engineering methods and techniques
- collaborate with stakeholders to identify and develop requirements for strategic use cases and research opportunities

- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- Remote: This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed
- The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories)
