Medtronic is seeking a Senior Principal Data Scientist to join their Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health (NMPH) team to transform clinical and real-world data into strategic insights that influence clinical, regulatory, and market decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Analytics OR Advanced degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Analytics
- Expert-level proficiency in Python or R for advanced analytics and modeling
- Demonstrated experience integrating AI into daily workflows
- Proven success developing and communicating ML models for predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Advanced data visualization capabilities
- Strong understanding of how ML and inferential statistics complement each other in product development
- Familiarity with synthetic data or digital twin technologies
Responsibilities
- Develop, explore, clean, transform, and model data to uncover insights, support decisions, and drive competitive advantage.
- Apply advanced statistical analysis to support accurate forecasting, prediction, and classification.
- Analyze clinical trial data, registries, and real-world data sources (claims, EHR, publications) to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
- Translate complex business questions into structured data science problems and deliver models that shape clinical, regulatory, and market strategies.
- Build and maintain analytical workflows, dashboards, and predictive models that support operational excellence.
- Utilize AI and ML techniques to accelerate data discovery and enhance analytical efficiency.
- Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms using state-of-the-art methodologies.

- Graduate degree in Data Science or another quantitative field (strong plus)
