Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Engineer to own and lead Engine Test Process in support of the Commercial Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Program to establish world class test processes and drive world class test process and controls throughout the network of Disassembly, Assembly & Test (DAT) sites.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with gas turbine engines ideally within a Disassembly, Assembly & Test (DAT) or FAA Repair Station environment
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to a repair station Quality requirements
  • Experience reading and/or interpreting engine manuals and overhaul Quality standards
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, SAP and Solumina G8 or equivalent Engine Maintenance System
  • Advanced degree and 7+ years of engineering, operations and/or technical experience within an Aerospace manufacturing or engine assembly environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field; Engineering preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own DAT test yield reporting for GTF DAT network.
  • Establish an OEM/MRO Test FPY Council to drive joint problem-solving & share learnings “live” for implementation network wide.
  • Chair and facilitate Vibe IPT to ensure timely engine specific vibe resolution including tech data corrective actions for additional benefits.
  • Implement process improvements and influence technical data (TD) changes in support of increasing First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Lead network wide investigations to identify additional process improvements to increase FPY in partnership with our Quality organization.
  • Evaluate and evolve inspection requirements e.g. bench vs. post-test, limited work scope BSI to reduce teardown frequency & work scope.
  • Create and maintain accurate testing process standard work leveraging Engine Design & System Integration (EDSI) knowledge & support.

  • Expected Travel: 10 - 15% (domestic and international)
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management
  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.
