Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Responsible/Analysis Engineer – Fire Protection Systems with experience in aircraft fire protection subsystems development to join their team in defining the future.
Requirements
- Must have professional experience related to the development and integration of fire protection subsystems or components
- Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft.
- Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems
- Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or STAR-CCM+ software
- Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using MIL-HDBK-516
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
- Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and BOEs
Responsibilities
- Performing responsible engineer activities, which include all aspects of fire protection system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting.
- Participating on a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement.
- Performing system related analysis, such as performance simulation, in support of the development of the fire protection subsystem including integration with other aircraft subsystems.
- System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting.
- System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
- Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
