Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer / Sr. Principal Software Engineer to support the Waimea Ground program within the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems for ground segment programs.
Requirements
- Experienced C/C++/Python/Java programmer
- Experience with DevSecOps environments in CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working on Agile programs and methodology.
- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Experience with Gitlab
- Experience working on a Ground Segment program
- Familiarity with RF Signal Data Processing
- Simulation Development Experience
- Payload Calibration Experience
- Experience with design and development of national security space or commercial space, interfaces, and ground systems architecture and/or integration of multiple IPTs is strongly preferred.
- Experience with automated testing
- Experience with Command and Control
Responsibilities
- The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
- Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
- Resolves software problem reports.
- Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
- Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
- Perform hands-on development and actively contribute to the code base including peer review of code.
