Collins Aerospace's Strategic Solutions team is looking for an exceptionally motivated engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Mission Systems. This position will support the shaping of the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with Object Oriented Development using Java with the ability to create complex software designs based on customer’s requirements.
- Prior experience with CI/CD.
- Prior experience designing distributed software using microservices technology.
- Previous experience designing software for Mission Critical Systems in the defense industry.
- Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition and derivation.
- Experience with UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools.
- Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators.
Responsibilities
- You will support requirements decomposition and derivation to produce Software Requirements.
- You will be responsible for producing high quality mission critical software.
- You will be responsible for providing direct support to stakeholders to answer questions and solve technical issues.
- You will support bid proposals, providing technical expertise and support with estimates.
- You will team up with a high-performance software team, collaborating with fellow Software engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Architects and other teams.
- You will collaborate with fellow Sr. Principal Engineers on the design definitions required to deliver complex software components supporting Mission Systems.
- You will have the opportunity to serve as a Subject Matter Expert within the Software discipline and team.

- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Secret - Current
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience.
