Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal UX Engineer - Designer/Researcher or Senior Principal UX Engineer - Designer/Researcher to contribute to the design and research of human-centered systems, ensuring usability, consistency, and mission effectiveness.

Requirements

• Experience with user-centered design (UCD) principles, research methodologies, and usability testing
• Portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions for web applications
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Axure, Lunacy, Adobe Suite, Lucid, Figma)
• Experience with contributions to Human Factors Analyses
• Experience with following, building and maintaining a style guide and design system
• Experience with visual design and UX/UI development methods
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-1472 (Department of Defense Design Criteria Standard for Human Engineering)

Responsibilities

• Apply user experience methods to features, workflows, and system modules
• Plan and execute user research activities
• Create prototypes and wireframes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive and efficient solutions
• Contribute to style guide compliance and usability studies
• Support agile development processes
• Perform UX research independently and UX design independently

• Bachelor's degree in STEM; 5 years of relevant experience (Principal UX Engineer - Designer/Researcher)
• Master's degree in STEM; 3 years of relevant experience (Principal UX Engineer - Designer/Researcher)
• PhD in STEM; 1 year of relevant experience (Principal UX Engineer - Designer/Researcher)
