Amplitude is looking to solve the problem of helping companies build better products by hiring a Senior Privacy & Product Counsel to drive their global privacy program and guide product development with practical legal advice.
Requirements
- 5+ years of privacy/product counsel experience, ideally with both in-house and law firm exposure.
- JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification.
- Deep knowledge of global privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, and others).
- Experience counseling on product issues beyond just privacy and data protection.
- Experience with AI and other emerging technologies.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing throughout the product lifecycle to proactively manage legal and privacy compliance.
- Work closely with Amplitude's AI team on product development.
- Develop and maintain Amplitude's global privacy program, including policies, procedures, and training.
- Maintain subject matter expertise on privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, US state laws, etc.) and advise teams on regulatory requirements.
- Provide legal guidance on marketing campaigns, collateral, and related activities.
- Collaborate with Information Security on best practices for protecting confidential and personal information.
- Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements (vendor agreements, customer contracts, DPAs, BAAs)
